DESIGN: Our brand new design Star Wars comic covers dress featuring the first issue covers of the original comic. FABRIC: 100% COTTON AMERICAN DESIGNER FABRIC -  fantastic quality and drape!

STYLE: High waist, knee length, flared from the waist to give flatterning look for all sizes.  Bodice has round neck and wide shoulder straps and comes up to the neckline at the back so wearing a bra is no problem!

LENGTH: Skirt length is approximately knee length measuring around 22.5 inches (57cm) depending on the size.

HOW TO ORDER: Check your measurements against our standard size chart, if your size is listed click the 'made to order in your suize 6-22' option on the drop down menu and continue as normal, remembering to add your measurements in inches to the customer notes section on the order.

MY SIZE ISN'T LISTED: choose the 'made to order in your size non standard patter size' option from the drop down menu, remember to check that the particular dress you have chosen can be made in your size, and add your measurements in inches to the customer notes section at checkout.  Please note that non standard size orders whether larger or smaller carry an extra charge of £20 this is to cover the extra time needed to re-draft patterns and check measurements.  

Other adjustments for example extra length or sizes larger than SIZE UK 24 (by our pattern sizing BUST larger than 46", WAIST larger than 40" and HIPS larger than 48") may be possible but you will need to email us for a quote as we may need to use a different pattern style (we have two choices that are great!) as the one we have will only scale up from the size 22 listed below by a couple of inches.

Teens, tweens and kids dresses may also be possible but on a quotation basis, for this we have an age 5-9 dress style with waist ties otherwise we will need you to supply a pattern brand and code so we can look up the design you require and quote you for it.  please note kids dresses only work with small pattern repeast, large one off designs don't work - imagine large my litttle pony eyeball on the bodice or half an Ariel face for example!

I'M NOT SURE IF MY DRESS CHOICE CAN BE MADE IN MY SIZE?:  As a rule of thumb if the design you have chosen has a small repeat, it can be scaled down to around UK SIZE 4 and up to around UK SIZE 24, however those with large single image designs such as the Care Bears dress, can't be scaled up or down past 6-22 due to the nature of the print and finite size of the fabric. If you're not sure just email us at info@geekboutique.co.uk or call our store on 01202-432199 10am-5pm Mon to Sat.  Rest assured we will check all orders and if we see any issues we will contact you straight away before any fabric is cut!

HELP! I'M TRYING TO ORDER FOR SOMEONE AS A PRESENT! : For all those lovely partners, friends or family who are trying to surprise your loved ones with a fab new dress, you're going to have to play detective because we will only process an order if it's acompanied by BUST, WAIST and HIP measurements! So you can either let them in on the secret and just not tell them the fabric you have chosen, or you can measure something they already own in as similar shape as possible to our dresses.  Failing that you can give us bra size, a snug fitting shirt measurement across chest/bust and the measurement of a fitted skirt or high waister jeans at the waist and hips, either way don't panic, just give us a call or email and we can advise you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I ORDER THE WRONG SIZE? Our dresses are hand made to order to the measurements you supply with approx one and a half inches of 'ease' (room to move) by our proffessional pattern cutter and dressmaker. She has a 100% success rate of making made to measure items for our customers so you can be sure that providing you supply the correct measurements, your dress will fit beautifully! 

We regret that if you order the wrong size or supply the wrong measurements or simply change your mind, we will only exchange or refund up to 50% of the order value minus postage. This is to cover the cost of ordering in the fabric and making the item especially for you.  This is why we insist that acurate measurements to the body in inches are supplied with all made to order items.  We are happy to offer all the help and advice you might need to ensure you are able to supply these.

CAN I TRY A DRESS ON?: Of course if you want to pop in store or try a dress at one of the many comic cons we attend that's easy, however for those who can't visit in person, if you are still concerned about sizing or style, we are happy to supply a sample dress for you to try on at home in any of the standard pattern sizes.  The way this works is simple you contact us and pay via paypal or credit/debit card for whatever dresses you wish to try on including postage (UK maximum of £5).  You then try them on in the comfort of your own home, decide on a size, and then return them within 7 days of receiving them. Once we receive them back (assuming they arrive in perfect 'unworn' condition- with tags intact, no marks, stains or deodorant smells/residue etc), we will then refund you the price of the dresses minus the postage.  You are then all set up with the knowlege you need to order a standard sized dress 'off the peg' from those in stock, have one made to order, or to order a custom made to measure dress with a bit more confidence as to where you need adjustments in sizing.

HOW DO I MEASURE MYSELF? We need the measurements TO THE BODY for BUST, WAIST and HIPS in inches. This means that you measure the actual size to the skin - comfortably not puling in tight and not allowing a gap.  We will add the room to move which in sewing terms is called 'ease'.  This means the dress will not be skin tight but will be fitted as our 'ease' is approximately one and a half inches. The BUST is measured through the middle and round the back at the largest point, usually throught the nipple line. The WAIST is measured at the smallest point, usually just under the ribs and above the belly button.  The HIPS are measured through the middle of the buttocks around the thigh at the largest point, though this measurement is really just to make sure, as the flared design means hips measurements are less important.

SIZE 6-8  BUST = 31.5 inches, WAIST = 24 inches, HIPS = 33.5 inches

SIZE 8-10 BUST= 32.5 inches, WAIST = 25 inches, HIPS = 34.5 inches

SIZE 10-12 BUST = 34 inches, WAIST = 26.5 inches, HIPS = 36 inches

SIZE 12-14 BUST = 36 inches, WAIST = 28 inches, HIPS = 38 inches

SIZE 14-16 BUST = 38 inches, WAIST = 30 inches, HIPS = 40 inches

SIZE 16-18 BUST = 40 inches, WAIST = 32 inches, HIPS = 42 inches

SIZE 18-20 BUST = 42 inches, WAIST = 34 inches, HIPS = 44 inches

SIZE 20-22 BUST = 44 inches, WAIST = 37 inches, HIPS = 46 inches

Please note: With any of our products that are made with vintage or recycled fabrics, the fabrics are pre-owned and pre-washed and although we take great care to select ones that are in good condition, they are not new and as such may have minor flaws or colour variations to that shown.
